İstanbul University has achieved a significant success by taking part in all 11 lists of the ‘World Universities in 2020’. İstanbul University, which also showed success with its research university performance, entered the top 500 in the ARWU and LEIDEN rankings, and became the leader of the 2013-2020 period among research and candidate research universities in Turkey in the LEIDEN World Ranking.

İstanbul University, the center of research and science, also achieved important success in the World University Rankings in 2020. İstanbul University, which is one of the most ranked universities in the world rankings, continued its successful stability by taking part in 11 world rankings. In addition to İstanbul University, Ankara University, Hacettepe University, İstanbul Technical University and Middle East Technical University took part in all 11 rankings.

As İU, We Are in The Top 500 in the ARWU and LEIDEN Rankings

İstanbul University ranked 450th in the ARWU ranking in 2020 and 355th in the LEIDEN ranking in the top 500. Besides İstanbul University, other Turkish universities; Hacettepe University, Middle East Technical University, Koç University, İstanbul Technical University, Bogazici University, İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University, Sabancı University entered the ranking in the top 500 universities. On the other hand, among 11 research universities and 5 candidate- research universities in Turkey; İstanbul University, Hacettepe University, Middle East Technical University, ITU and Boğaziçi University took place in the top 500.

İU Took Part in All 11 Rankings

İstanbul University, which is the 2nd in the overall assessment among 22 Turkish universities, ranked at least seven out of 11 world rankings, including the ARWU and LEIDEN rankings.

As a result, İstanbul University became 632nd in URAP ranking; 644th in CWUR ranking, the 625th in NTU ranking; 900th in QS ranking; 536th in RUR ranking; 714th in USNEWS ranking; 626th in SCIMAGO ranking; 900th in THE ranking; and 702nd in WEBOMETRICS ranking.

We Are the Most Successful Turkish University in LEIDEN Ranking

İstanbul University ranked at the top among Turkish universities in the LEIDEN World Ranking for the period of 2013-2020, which included 10 of sixteen research and candidate- research universities. İstanbul University, which ranked the 496th in 2013, the 737th in 2015 and the 355th in 2020, was followed by Hacettepe University and ITU in the LEIDEN ranking.

İstanbul University ranked 2nd among research and candidate-research universities in Turkey in the URAP World Ranking in the period of 2013-2020.
