İstanbul University Hosted the Students Who Ranked In The Top 10 In The University Exam In Sudan
On March 26th, on Friday, İstanbul University (İU) Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak hosted the students who ranked in the top 10 in the university entrance exam in Sudan.
Successful students who ranked in the top 10 in the university entrance exam in Sudan visited our University. During the visit, Beyazıt Campus and Rectorate Building of our University were visited. Prof. Dr. Faruk Taşçı, from Faculty of Economics, Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations accompanied the guest students with Maha Bakhit, PhD student of IU History Department. Sudanese students were hosted in the office of Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak.
Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak stated that Istanbul University cares about welcoming international students. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Ak said that there are currently 8,800 international students from 154 countries in our university. Professor Ak answered the Sudanese students' questions about our university. Prof. Dr. Ak made the following explanation: “Our University is the university that publishes the most international publications in Turkey and receives the most citations for its publications. We have 53 academic journals. 34 of these journals are scanned in the national directory, and 17 of these 34 journals are scanned in the web of science. Additionally, articles in these journals are currently available to everyone around the world as open access from our university page. We have 23,000 articles currently in open access. Our university is a general university. We also have departments in the field of health, social, science and engineering. Besides, I hope you will study here for both undergraduate and graduate level.”
Sudanese students were hosted at the Baltalimanı Social Facilities Building after the visit, which took place at our Rector's office.
