An Award from England to Yenikapı Shipwrecks Projects
The article titled “The Yenikapı Byzantine-Era Shipwrecks, Istanbul, Turkey: a preliminary report and inventory of the 27 wrecks studied by Istanbul University” in which the preliminary results of Yenikapı Shipwrecks Projects were presented by the Department of Conversation and Restoration of Portable Cultural Assets of IU Faculty of Letters was received the award of “Honor Frost Foundation/ IJNA”.
The article written by the Project Director Prof. Dr. Ufuk Kocabaş, was published on the 44th issue of the International Journal of Nautical Archeology, one of the world’s most prestigious scientific journals in maritime archeology. By meeting the award criteria in the best way possible, as confirmed by the Wiley publishing house, the publication becomes the most downloaded and referenced article on the internet. It will be opened for the free access of all researchers in the coming days.
